A solution to the nonlinear differential equation describing unsteady flow toward equally spaced drains above a horizontal impermeable boundary is presented. The solution is compared with field data and a numerical solution. The solution was found to agree with the field data and the numerical solution when the drain spacing was large relative to the depth of drains.
