dc.description.abstract | The artist's statement: Ambiguity is very important to my work, it's important to me that the audience draws their own conclusions to what they are seeing, rather than relying on an artist statement to tell them everything, in fact I implore the viewer to look at the work and then come back and read the statement if they want. The work I have made over the last few years is a result of a style I have developed that I call NU DADA. Which is essentially Neo Expressionism meets a more structured Dadaism. The work explores topics revolving around race, religion, politics and love as well as many others. The core of this work is based around the NU DADA epic, which is rooted in a Joseph Campbell myth structure with a whole lot of ambiguity thrown in. my current aesthetic is brutal yet poetic and lackadaisical, essentially "fine" art meets "low culture". | en_US |
