| dc.description.abstract | The artist's statement: As a graphic designer, my work is deeply meaningful to me. I strive to create designs that drive change and produce real-life results. I believe that design has the power to influence and inspire, and I am passionate about using it as a tool for positive impact. With a strong background in studio art, I am well-versed in various mediums, but I particularly enjoy working with Adobe software, drawing and printmaking. When fit, I like to integrate these techniques into my projects, enhancing the visual experience and adding depth to my work. My creative process begins with researching inspiration, brainstorming thumbnail sketches, color schemes, and mood boards, where I explore typographical choices and refine my ideas before diving into a more set design. I find my inspiration in exploring themes of self-expression, often reflecting a mental brain dump of thoughts and feelings. My work captures the complexity of the human experience, allowing me to translate these emotions into visually dynamic and engaging designs. I aim to create pieces that resonate on a personal level, connect viewers to the brand, or call for a moment to stop and enjoy and invite viewers to connect to the art with their own experiences. My goal is to bring fun, spunk, and personality back into functional art and design. My work represents a harmonious blend of practicality and creativity, ensuring that each piece is not just visually appealing but also meaningful. | |
