dc.description.abstract | An emerging theme in the plasma community revolves around improving the effectiveness of low-temperature plasmas as a method for pollution remediation. Advances are limited due to a vast data gap regarding the fundamental gas phase chemistry and the resulting gas-surface interface interactions for potential catalysts, specifically zeolites. In addition to studying the material, gas phase emission and absorption spectroscopies examine the interactions between zeolites and plasmas, probing the effect of a substrate on plasma internal temperatures. These studies provide a molecular level understanding of the chemical mechanisms within these systems, profoundly influencing our ability to design high performing advanced materials. | en_US |
