Lesley Clayton: capstone
The artist's statement: My work explores natural dyes and natural fibers to create works of art. In life I am drawn to wabi sabi beauty; its "imperfection and impermanence." My inspiration is the often overlooked or unseen gifts in nature: the plant or seed sharing its treasure of colorful dye, the tree fruit rendering beautiful yellows or healing the human body, the sheep giving fleece to be woven into comforting warmth.
