A textbook, Farm places the culture of agriculture (by which they mean the "knowledge, beliefs, laws, customs, ethics, and art of a society") at the forefront. Composed of texts (excerpted literary works, essays, recipes, menus) and art that share with students the legacy of agriculture in the United States and put that into conversation with other important cultural events and meanings.
