dc.description.abstract | The artist's statement: Graphic design does not only represent my client and their dream, but holds the dreams of Tineal Puaoi (myself) to continue in learning more about being a graphic designer who could make dreams come to reality. The three selected items that were chosen were items that taught me about the world as a graphic designer. Quality, function, presentation, and design are some elements that were not easy to learn without trial, experimentation, and failures. No matter how big the bag full of failures may be, there will always be double the amount of prized posters or products that could bring the artist life, personality, identity, strengths, and weaknesses into an art piece. Putting oneself into the art may bring more interest and possibly build a stronger person that will continue to grow. Growth is what I gained for myself when working on design projects. What inspired me was the way trees grow and change during the season in Colorado, which are things that I don't normally see in Hawaii. The change in the season from hot summers to cold snowy winters as well as abnormal weather patterns inspired the colors and lively strokes found in the art. Whenever I missed home the sweet products used by family members such as cinnamon became a staple for a childhood radio book cinnamon bear. Inspiration for future artists is was I seek to do in the present and the future throughout the creation of art pieces. | |
