| dc.description.abstract | The artist's statement: I drew my inspiration for this series, Uncovering, from my strong kinship with the beauty of the female body and my passions for motherhood and reproduction. This series reflects a conscious response to the way in which I view the body in contrast to an environment. Photographs of the body can be considered as an extension of portraiture, however such images are often seen as taboo or a perpetuation of certain stereotypes. Through my imagery I aspire to evoke a level of understanding, free of intentions of sexualizing or objectifying. | en_US |
