Abstract
The artist's statement: The forms I make come from memories of my childhood: objects found in my grandmothers house, pinching pots in the creek bed, learning flowers while sitting in the garden with my mother. I am interested in integrating function with natural vessel shapes by abstracting natural structures into unique objects. Layers, containment, and time are fascinating to me. I see a connection between the process of coil building and tree rings. They both begin as small and systematic; then as time passes, they expand and warp in a way that gives shape to the entire form.
