This series focused on the role of payments for ecosystem services (PES) in collaborative conservation efforts across the Western U.S. and around the world.
dc.descriptionTerry Fankhauser grew up on a cow-calf operation in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Fankhauser joined the Colorado Cattlemen's Association as the Director of Membership in 2000 where he worked with membership recruitment and retention, industry issues and served as a beef quality assurance coordinator for Colorado. He was named Executive Vice President of CCA in October of 2001. Prior to his tenure at CCA, Fankhauser worked as a ruminant nutrition consultant throughout Kansas, Wyoming and Colorado. He has a Master of Science in Ruminant Nutrition and Management and a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences, both from Kansas State University.

dc.description.abstractPartners for Western Conservation seeks to implement market-based conservation and ecosystems programs that benefit wildlife, the environment, landowners; and the regulated community. Through sound science, assistance, resources and educational efforts, the PWC seeks to create a community of partners committed to the conservation and stewardship of land, water, air and wildlife.
