Abstract
Display items from the second of four exhibit cases depicting the student experience at Colorado State University. The exhibit is associated with the university's 150th anniversary celebration in 2020. Focusing on years of conflicts and new traditions, included are images of a 1916 physics laboratory; Scribblers Club members practicing their lines in 1919; a 1931 parade float and scene of students painting the "A" near Horsetooth Reservoir; the campus soda fountain in 1941; World War II veterans registering for classes and standing by post-war Quonset hut housing in 1946; and Swan Club swimmers posing in 1949. A summary is given of the university's fluctuating student enrollment from before World War I to after World War II and the beginning of long-lasting student traditions.
