dc.description.abstractForest and Rangeland Management uses current examples from the western U.S. to examine the principles of collaborative resource management. It finds evidence that groups can be innovative and effective, particularly when they take time to form a legitimate process and share authority. A good collaborative process can help federal land managers, state legislators and employees, landowners and community groups to fashion broadly supported land management policies.
