Abstract
Ethics has been constantly becoming more inclusive, and that ought to encompass the larger community of life on Earth. Values are present in living organisms, independently of humans. Iceland has more opportunity for protecting a larger proportion of its landscape as wild nature than does the United States, or other more temperate nations. Rolston finds the Iceland environment challenging, in some ways recalling the challenges he faced in Antarctica. Hugur is an annual, the only Icelandic periodical that is solely dedicated to philosophy.
