Presented at the Can forests meet our energy needs? The future of forest biomass in Colorado conference, February 21, 2008, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado.
Rob Davis is Founder and President of Forest Energy Corporation in Show Low, Arizona, and has been serving Colorado with pellet fuel for 15 years. He is also a partner in Future Forest, who is performing the first and only large, long-term USFS stewardship contract, the White Mountain Stewardship Project, which covers 150,000 acres and has been a success due to the many prior years and ongoing collaboration with all stakeholders. Forest Energy was the first company in North America to utilize residues from forest thinning projects as pellet raw material. He is a past president of the Pellet Fuel Institute, has served previously on a number of renewable energy committees, and he is a newly appointed member of Governor Ritter's Colorado Forest Health Advisory Council. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico.
