Abstract
Walking is a popular and convenient form of physical activity and can play an important role in the treatment and prevention of obesity. During level walking, obese adults are reported to have a greater net metabolic rate (W/kg) but a similar metabolic cost (J/kg/m) compared to non-obese adults.
