    Abstract
    This study examined climate change-related news coverage in two elite U.S. newspapers, the New York Times and the Washington Post, during the second George W. Bush presidential administration from January 2005 to January 2009. Framing theory, using four functional frames, laid the groundwork for the investigation. A quantitative content analysis was conducted to determine the story frames and claims-makers portrayed in the news coverage; an interpretation of the narrative content was then performed to further explore the quantitative findings.
