Permanent URI for this collection

Colorado State University has provided several avenues for students to publish their work. This digital collection includes three student journals: Furthering Perspectives (vol. 1-8, 2007-2018), published by the Anthropology Graduate Student Society; Journal of Student Affairs (vol. 1-29, 1992-2019/20), which publishes articles by current students, alumni, faculty, and associates of the Student Affairs in Higher Education graduate program at Colorado State University; and Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Excellence (vol. 1-7, 2010-2016), which publishes outstanding undergraduate research, scholarly articles, and creative works. The digital collection also includes a short-lived weekly student newspaper, Transition (vol. 1-2, 1969), which provided commentary on local and national issues and, per its editor Steve Watts, was intended to hold "…the key to 'open' doors of dissent and opinions of All members of C.S.U. regardless of race, color, or political beliefs and affiliation." Also included here are scattered issues of the student publication College Avenue.

Please see the Rocky Mountain Collegian Archive for digital copies of CSU's student newspaper.

Anthropology is the study of Humanity; of us. How we behave, what we think, what we were like in the past, and why we look like we do. The human experience is varied and incredibly complicated. As such Anthropological research reflects a plethora of topics and perspectives. This issue of Furthering Perspectives pays homage to the dynamic study of humanity by presenting a diverse group of articles written by undergraduates, alumni, and graduate students from Colorado State University. Displaying a mixture of original research and literature review, Furthering Perspectives 2022 will explore geopolitical issues, and themes of trauma and healing. It will analyze primate bone structure, and the effects of mass media in the digital age.
