Abstract
Chronic, non-healing wounds afflict millions of Americans and represent a costly burden to the healthcare industry. In addition, the overuse and misuse of antibiotics has triggered the widespread emergence of drug-resistant bacteria, making the treatment of infected wounds more challenging.
