A siren used to give blasting warnings is attached to a Bucyrus Erie churn drill at the Gross Marble Mine. The Gross Marble Mine was an open pit mine near Marble in Itasca County, Minnesota, part of the Mesabi Range. The Mine was opened in 1942 and operated in conjunction with the Delaware No. 2 Mine by the Oliver Iron Mining Company into the 1950s.
