The Beth-El Historical Collections include the Beth-El Alumni Nurses Collection and the Beth-El Administrative Collections. The Beth-El Historical Collections document the history of the Beth-El School of Nursing/College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the nursing profession in the twentieth century.

The Beth-El Alumni Nurses Collection contains records, objects, photographs, and documents created, collected, and preserved by the Alumni of the Beth-El Training School/Beth-El School of Nursing/Beth-El College of Nursing.

The Beth-El Administrative Collections comprise records maintained within the School/College for its operation and preserved for their historical value.

This digital collection includes scrapbooks created between 1973 and 1986 by members of the Beth-El Alumni Nurses Association documenting the history of the School of Nursing and the Hospital.

It also includes Lantern slides created between 1923 and 1928 that were used at informational talks. These are a representative collection of the lantern slides preserved by the Beth-El School of Nursing. Several of the slides have been cracked through time and some are duplicate or replacement images."

Also included are yearbooks, created by student nurses, for many of the years of the Beth-El School (later College) of Nursing. The first yearbook was published in 1923, the last in 1998. Originally named TPR (for Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), it was later named The Chart. Yearbooks were published 1923-1932, with a scrapbook yearbook created for the Class of 1933. No yearbooks were published until 1957 and the tradition continued until 1998. A few yearbooks are missing from the Beth-El Historical Collections. These books are identified with NEED COPY after the title. If you have a copy that you would be willing to donate to the Beth-El Historical Collections or give us permission to copy and make available, please contact Mary Rupp, Archives Librarian and Digital Repository Coordinator at archives@uccs.edu.

Select items from individual collections will be digitized to provide access.
