Mortality Salience, Women in Power, and Rape Myth Acceptance
The goal of the present study is to use Terror Management Theory (TMT) as a vehicle for understanding rape myth acceptance. Terror management posits that knowledge of one’s mortality can create overwhelming terror. However, cultural worldviews are one mechanism humans use to protect against this terror.
