    Abstract
    Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, autoimmune disease affecting over 400,000 Americans, in which recurrent inflammation destroys myelin forming cells (oligodendroglia), axons, neurons and astrocytes resulting in a variety of symptoms and neurological disability. Although disease-modifying therapies for MS have significantly improved, their use may result in adverse effects, as well as considerable financial burden. Male Veterans with MS face poorer outcomes and lower socioeconomic status, putting them at high risk for unhealthy eating patterns. Nutritional interventions may reduce the ...
