Diary of Carpenter's professional activities as a lawyer in 1921. He travels frequently between Greeley, Denver, and Fort Collins, and makes weekly visits to Crow Creek Ranch--his shorthorn cattle ranch northeast of Greeley. Work for the Greeley-Poudre Irrigation District occupies a large portion of his time. In May he travels to Washington, D.C., for a Colorado River Compact conference, and on his way back west stops in Lincoln, Nebraska, to discuss a South Platte compact and Topeka, Kansas, to discuss an Arkansas River compact. Carpenter also works on other water compacts and treaties as well as interstate water cases, including Wyoming v. Colorado and Kansas v. Colorado during the year.
