Loren Bruns : his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On November 17, 2006, Loren Bruns sat at his home in Loveland, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Loren served in the U.S. Army's 528 Quartermasters, attached to the 45th Division. Loren's first experience with the war wasn't in the service, but a humorous incident where he and some buddies were held as suspected spies. Once in the Army though, and after being shipped overseas to Africa for additional training and staging, he was part of the invasion of Sicily (the first Allied forced on Axis soil). Fighting his way across Sicily, a severe medical condition took him out of the war. ...
