Leonie (Moncla) Shannon: her experiences in World War II, as told in her own words
On October 5, 2012 Leonie (maiden name Moncla) Shannon sat down at her home in Loveland, CO and told of her experiences in World War II. Leonie, born and raised in Mansure, LA, served in the Women's Army Corps. She was with a group of 40 women who were sent to London and attached to the Office of Strategic Services (forerunner to today's CIA) where she tracked supply and agent air drops into Nazi occupied France.
