Warren Garst: his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On March 26, 2012 Warren Garst sat down at his home in Ft. Collins, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Warren, born and raised in Douglas, WY, served in the Navy. He entered the V-12 program in college. After midshipmen school, he was assigned to the USS McLanahan (DD-615) and shipped off for Africa. He got sick in Africa and came back to the states. He then was assigned to the USS Buck (DD-761) and then transferred to Japan aboard the USS Newton K. Perry (DD-883).
