Raymond Heley: his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On March 5, 2010 Raymond Heley sat down at his home in Ft. Collins, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Ray, raised in Fergus Falls, MN, served in the Navy as a Supply officer. He first served aboard the USS Manley (APD-1), which transported soldiers throughout the Pacific. When the war ended, he was transferred to the USS Grimes (APA-172), which transported occupation forces home from Japan. After the war, he returned home and after working in a number of jobs, got into education. He would go on to have successful and fulfilling 31 year career in various areas and levels of education. ...
