On July 16, 2012 Melvin Engeman sat down at his home in Loveland, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Mel, born and raised in Ft. Madison, IA, was a B-24 pilot serving with the 98th Bomb Squadron, 11th Bombardment Group of the 7th Air Force. He tells of his time in the Pacific Theater where he had 11 bomb missions, did submarine patrol and ferried freed American POWs after the war ended.
