I really enjoy the feeling of being able to create a work that can exist in the physical realm, that I can hold in my hands. At the same time the digital plain is something that can be explored just as much as traditional art can. As a graphic design concentration I also enjoy being able to bring someone else's idea to life. Within written word, and books specifically, I find that my ability to illustrate a scene that was not previously expressed in a visual matter is something I really care about moving forward with. This does bring itself into other facets of graphic design, however illustration is where I find myself most often. The element of storytelling within illustration is close to my heart and both my physical and digital art making are a testament to that. It all begins with an idea, a glimpse of something taken from the world around me, and then after sketching out numerous iterations there is a solidification of what I am making. Most recently this is in the form of collage. It is storytelling in the way that many layers are built upon to form a larger picture.born digitalStudent worksengCopyright and other restrictions may apply.
