In both assembling these works and ordering them, I tried to highlight moments of growth, experimentation, and range in voice. While their concerns and themes vary, each of these stories harbor the same objective: to look beyond the protective falsehoods we as people and characters present in our daily lives; to speculate as to what might be found when those superficialities are lifted, in times when the only answer we can come to that seems remotely honest is "I don't know."
