Students in K12 have been collaborating to design and build and solar charged lanterns which have been distributed to several countries. Engineering Brightness now has relationships with schools in Guatemala. The hoped-for outcome is an active network which will become a learning laboratory, facilitating collaboration and replication. UNESCO estimates that 1.3 billion people live without safe, reliable light after dark.
