Perez, Cevin, artist2023-05-032023-05-032023https://hdl.handle.net/10217/236444Colorado State University Art and Art History Department capstone project.Capstone contains the artist's statement, a list of works, and images of works. The artist's statement: I create art in many forms and mediums, my favorite medium comes in the form of traditional oil painting. Paintings can be interpreted and surveyed differently depending on the individual. For me, the best works are adorned with a multitude of messages. A piece that sends the viewer on a voyage through time and space or evokes an internal struggle. Ultimately, leaving a lasting narrative for the audience. Today, we see this more and more in our day-to-day activities. With this background, the discipline of Graphic Design has become my main pursuit. It allows me to communicate the messages of traditional painting, while providing numerous pathways to calculate the depth of how it is perceived. There are so many aspects of the design process that capture my attention. From the research and development stage to the applied compositions. I want to be able to create meaningful representations of the world around us in a digital format. To bring what was communicated so well in the works of the Romantic period, to the burgeoning virtual environment in which we see ourselves today. Providing meaningful associations to our place in history. With my knowledge of painting, I hope to bring design in harmony with my concepts for future Illustrations. The inspirations for my creative process come from the life I've lived, the people I've met and the relationships I've fostered.born digitalStudent worksengCopyright and other restrictions may apply.
