While the ecological and health impacts of nutrient enrichment are well documented and understood, the challenge still remains in helping developing countries initiate a sustainable water quality program that will address nutrient enrichment and other water quality problems. The Klina River in Kosovo has shown evidence of eutrophication in multiple locations.
