This study investigated how feedback receivers' mental models for professional skills relate to their acceptance of professional skill feedback. University students participated in a leaderless group discussion and completed multiple measures of mental model knowledge and belief structure before receiving and responding to feedback. The hypothesis that knowledge structure accuracy would predict feedback acceptance was supported for multiple measures, while a significant relationship was not found for belief structure.
