Methods of recovering uranium and vanadium from carbonate leach solutions : progress report, November 1, 1951, to December 31, 1951
This report covers work done during the period November 1, 1951 to December 31,1951 to develop a method or recovering uranium and vanadium from carbonate leach solutions such as the Monticello solutions which were used for this work. A column-type contactor utilizing liquid sodium amalgam was constructed and tests were carried out with this device. These tests also included further investigation of the effect of solution temperature, and of sodium concentration in the amalgam. The work thus far indicates that the sodium amalgam method is technically feasible. Electrolytic reductions v1ere carried ...
