Abstract
Grand Valley Irrigation Headgates. The Bureau of Reclamation has spent some time developing the Western Slope of Colorado. The Silt, Grand Valley, Collbran, Dallas Creek, Fruit-growers, Paonia, Smith Fork, Uncompahgre, and Bostwick Park Projects, major parts of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project and the Wayne N. Aspinall Unit of the Colorado River Storage Project, all lie west of the continental divide. With the support of local residents, Reclamation helped develop the west-central portion of Colorado for irrigation and municipal purposes. The Collbran Project fulfills only one of these tasks, ...
