    Abstract
The bucket containing the three millionth cubic yard of concrete to be placed in Glen Canyon Dam is dumped by L. F. Wylie, Project Construction Engineer for the Bureau of Reclamation. When the dam is finished in early 1964, it will contain approximately five million cubic yards of concrete and will rise 710 feet above bedrock. The dam is now 437 feet high The contractor, Merritt-Chapman and Scott Corporation, is using 12-cubic-yard buckets to place concrete at a rate of over 8,000 cubic yards a. day. The crews work three shifts a. day, five days a week.
