Highly mobile populations can quickly overwhelm an existing urban infrastructure as large numbers of people move into the city. In particular, the urban road networks that have been designed and planned for less traffic will quickly become congested leading to diffusion of traffic as secondary roads are increasingly utilized, thus congesting them. Further unwanted and potentially fatal consequences such as increased accidents, stress, driver anger, and road rage could increase.
