FERRITE PARTICLES EMPLOYED AS TEMPERATURE SENSORS FOR MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING THERMOMETRY
Ferrite materials were investigated as possible magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) temperature contrast agents. Cu1-xZnxFe2O4 and Mg1-xZnxFe2O4 ferrite samples with Zn composition from 0.4 to 1.0 were grown using a standard ceramic technique. Their structural properties were determined using x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy. The XRD data were analyzed using the Rietveld method to determine cation distribution in the spinel ferrite crystallographic structure.
