Medulloblastoma is a tumor of the posterior fossa (cerebellum) occurring mostly in children under nine years of age. Amongst brain cancers it is the most common solid tumor in childhood and has the most frequent occurrence accounting for about 30% of all pediatric brain tumors. Survival rates of medulloblastoma range between under 50% to about 70% and is highly dependent on the pathology and/or molecular characteristics of the tumor.
