dc.descriptionAnimal characteristics: Head-Body Length: 50-54 cm; Height: 20 cm; Weight: 7.5 kg; Identification: The hair of the raccoon dog is long and brindled with black and brown. Its face mask, legs, and tail stripes are black; Habitat: Forests and rocky banks near rivers and lakes; Diet: Omnivore: frogs, fish, rodents, acorns, berries, fruits; Reproduction: Raccoon dogs, which are monogamous, breed from February to April. Gestation lasts 60-63 days, after which 6-8 pups are born; Social Structure: These canids live alone or in small family groups (5-6 individuals); Behavior: Raccoon dogs are nocturnal. They build their dens among rocks, bushes, in a hollow tree, or burrow into the ground. This species doesn't bark; Status: No special status; Interesting Facts: Raccoon dogs are the only canid that go into a type of hibernation.
