Most are colonial nesters. The female may incubate her eggs by herself or receive help from her partner. Both parents care for the chicks; Social Structure: Many species are gregarious, forming groups for foraging and/or nesting; Behavior: Because they often feed on the wing, swallows are very agile flyers. They are commonly seen perching on open branches and wires; Status: No special status; Interesting Facts: There are 90 known species of swallows.
