dc.descriptionAnimal characteristics: Head-Body Length: 12-14 cm; Weight: 50-90 g; Identification: The grey mouse lemur is gray in color with a paler underside. It also has long fleshy ears; Habitat: Secondary forests, roadside brush, gardens; Diet: Omnivore: insects, fruit, flowers, leaves; Reproduction: Grey mouse lemurs reach sexual maturity in one year and breed in mid-September. The gestation period is 59-62 days long. After giving birth to twins (occasionally four), the mother carries them in her mouth. The young are independent by the time they are two months old. Grey mouse lemurs live for 10-15 years; Social Structure: While most of the foraging is done alone, grey mouse lemurs sleep in groups of 15 animals. Females are dominant over the males; Behavior: Grey mouse lemurs are nocturnal and arboreal; Status: No special status; Interesting Facts: The non-prehensile tail is used for balance. They scent-mark their ranges by rubbing their faces on twigs and by urinating on their hands and feet.
