Clarence James (Jim) Svedman (1926-2003) farmed near Windsor, Colorado, and was involved in local organizations, including the Colorado Cattlemen's Association, the Colorado Cattle Feeders Association, and the Larimer County Farm Bureau. When land prices around Windsor increased in the 1970s, the Svedman family gradually sold their land, which had been farmed by three generations of Svedmans, to developers. Svedman’s collection contains financial records concerning crop, feed, and livestock farm operations, materials from associations in which Jim Svedman was involved, photographs, and newspaper clippings. Most of the collection consists of records related to Jim Svedman, although there are earlier items as well concerning both his father, Clarence Martin Svedman (1906-1974) and grandfather, Martin Svedman (died 1923). This digital collection, with materials dated 1898 to 1992, includes photographs, documents concerning farm operations, real estate deeds, financial documents, maps, and a 1992 auction handbill for the Svedman farm.
