CE470: Civil Engineering Applications. Ed Knop lecture
Maury Albertson introduces Ed Knop, a Colorado State University sociology professor, who lectures on sociopolitical issues in social acceptability and sample case overviews. He emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to engineering projects and of considering public opinion. Cases include an energy park in the Tularosa Basin, New Mexico; geothermal generation in Springerville-Eager, Arizona; and an air pollution pilot study. He shows some overhead projector slides of data/results. He goes on to talk about social surveys and ends with answering student questions.
