Alfred Laser: his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On August 26, 2009 Alfred Laser sat down at his home in Johnstown, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Al, born on a farm in the Shelby-Plymouth, OH area, served in the U.S. Navy. After training as an engineer, he first served aboard the light cruiser USS Oklahoma City (CL-91). In the Philippines, he was transferred to the destroyer tender USS Yosemite (AD-19). In both ships he worked below deck in the engine room and gives a good description of the conditions that the men, who kept the ships running, had to endure.
