William "Bill" Hill: his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On June 25, 2009, William "Bill" Hill sat down at his home in Ft. Collins, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Bill, born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO, served in the Army Air Corps. After getting his wings, he shipped off to Africa where he began flying B-26s for the 34th Bomb Squadron of the 17th Bombardment Wing. From Africa his unit moved to Sardinia where he was based the rest of his time in the war. Bill ended up flying 62 missions!
