Waste water treatment plant grease-characterization, combustion properties and solubility
Waste water treatment plant grease was studied to assess the feasibility of use as an alternative fuel source for utility boiler furnaces for the Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU). Grease samples were collected weekly from the dewatering trough at the CSU Las Vegas Waste Water Treatment Facility to identify within a 95% confidence limit repeatability and feasibility based on calorific values and chemical composition.
