Howard Johnston: his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On September 29, 2014 Howard Johnston sat down at his home in Ft. Collins, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Howard, born and raised on a farm outside Curtis, NE, served in Co. C, 314 Infantry Regiment of the 79th Infantry Division. He tells of life as an infantryman on the frontlines fighting until Germany surrendered. After the surrender, Howard was selected to be a guard at the Nuremberg Trials. Returning home after his service, he would eventually go on to have a career in retail.
