Duane Pond: his experiences in the Korean War, as told in his own words
On April 25, 2011 Duane Pond of Berthoud, CO sat down and told of his experiences in the Korean War. Duane, born and raised on a farm in eastern Nebraska, served in the U.S. Navy. He was an aviation structural mechanic who did two tours of duty overseas, first with Squadron VP772 and then again when it was redesignated as VP17, both times based in Japan. After his service was up, he went to college and earned a degree in civil engineering. This would lead to a successful and fascinating career.
